Parks and Recreation Department Overview

The Kingston Springs Parks Department provides residents with access to  recreational facilities and cultural opportunities throughout the year.  Town staff maintain the 173 acre parks system, which has become known for its quality and is a hallmark of the Kingston Springs area. 

 

Park Facilities Rental Info

 The Parks Department rents portions of parks facilities for special  events. These rentals include - Park Pavilions, the L.L. Burns Park  Activity Center, and the Baseball/Softball field at City Park.  Please call City Hall at 615-952-2110 ext.1 for rental availability, or complete the  Park Facilities Rental Form found HERE and bring to city Hall at 396 Spring Street.  Please note, rental of  the Activity Center will require you to obtain Event Liability  Insurance.  Please see the Rental Application for additional details.   Please call Parks Director Brandy Miniat at 615-952-9885 with any questions.

Community Events

The Kingston Springs Parks and Recreation Department is focused on providing opportunities for the community to gather and celebrate living in the town of Kingston springs.  Those events include:

  • Art in the Park -  Art  in the Park is an annual event with over 70 fine art and craft vendors,  live music, baked goods, food trucks, kid zone, and an art competition held in LL Burns Park the first Saturday or October.
  • Dinner on Main - An annual Farm to Table dinner event with local chefs serving locally sourced food held as a fundraiser for the Parks Department
  • Easter Egg Hunt -  Thousands of eggs are hidden in City Park for this event, held on a Saturday prior Easter.  Children are divided into age groups  for hunting eggs, and prizes are awarded. 
  • Farmers and Artisans Market -  A Market that offers the community a  place to gather, to glean  from the wide variety of fresh, healthy  foods and products creatively  made by their friends and neighbors.  Held from Late spring through late summer each year.
  • Fishing Rodeo -  Held at L.L. Burns Park in conjunction with the TWRA Free  Fishing Weekend, in early June each year. The pond is stocked with fish  and an early morning of exciting fishing always ensues. The event is for  children ages 4-12, is free of charge, and features several prizes and  trophies. 
  • Food Truck Mondays - Food trucks, live music, games, and plenty of space to sit, relax, and enjoy the evening.  Held throughout the summer months in downtown Kingston Springs.
  • Kingston Springs Christmas - A special event held in LL Burns Park in early December.  The park is fully decorated for Christmas and the event includes food trucks, live music, and a special visitor from the north Pole. 
  • Senior Citizens Group -  A social group for those 60 and over, the Kingston Springs senior  citizens group includes a monthly lunch and two monthly bingo dates.  Other special events are also planned throughout the year. 
  • Youth Recreational Soccer League -  The Parks Department offers a youth soccer league every spring and fall.  The rec league is comprised of a 10 week season with games occurring  each Saturday morning. Players, coaches, and referees are all community  members and games and practices are held at L Burns Park.
